Father Bishoy Kamel

Father Bishoy Kamel was born on June 9, 1963 in Cairo, Egypt.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Science from Ain Shams University, Cairo in 1986. He also has a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University, Boston in 1996. He worked in Community Development with His Grace Bishop Serapion in Cairo at the Bishopric of Social and Ecumenical Services in 1986 to 1995.

He served as a Deacon in Shubra, Cairo and continued to work for His Grace Bishop Serapion as his secretary till 1997 when he was ordained Presbyter by His Grace Bishop Serapion on July 27, 1997. He serves at St. Marina Church in Irvine.

Father Michael Fanous

Fr. Michael Fanous was born in Newark, New Jersey, grew up in Jersey City, NJ and Pennsylvania. He moved with his family in 1996 to Southern California.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science at UCI. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended Azusa Pacific University and graduated with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Fr. Michael Fanous was ordained to the priesthood on Sunday, March 3, 2013 by His Grace Bishop Serapion and His Grace Bishop Youssef to serve at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Palm Springs. In May 2017, His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion assigned him to serve at St. Marina Coptic Orthodox Church in Irvine.

 

Father Macarius refela

Fr. Macarius Refela was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at UCLA. He proceeded to attend dental school and residency at UCLA as well. Fr. Macarius worked as a board certified periodontist by profession. In 2021, Fr. Macarius graduated from St. Athanasius and St. Cyril Theological School (ACTS) as the valedictorian of his class. He takes special interest in studying the Church Fathers.

Fr. Macarius Refela was ordained to the priesthood on Sunday, January 9, 2022 by His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion to serve at St. Marina Coptic Orthodox Church in Irvine.

Archdeacon Botros Botros

Archdeacon Botros Botros was born on April 30, 1944 in Egypt.

In June 1965, he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University followed by a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 1973 and a Ph.D in 1981.

He worked as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the National Center of Research in Cairo prior to coming to the United States where he established several successful pharmacies and business.

On April 27, 2013, His Grace Bishop Serapion laid hands upon and ordained him as an archdeacon to serve at St. Marina Church in Irvine.
